After Hours Service

After Hours services respond to all child welfare emergencies outside of normal business hours, weeknights, weekends and holidays. All calls are assessed to determine if services are required, emergencies receive appropriate services response.

Further investigation, assessment and response are referred to daytime programs for follow up.  The Mandate of the services is to ensure the safety of children in the short term, until the assigned worker or a new worker is assigned to the case.

The service viewpoint is to make every effort to keep families together. When this is not possible, as evidenced by the risk factor essential in the referral, the agency will seek out family, friends, or community as a resource to avoid apprehension.
